The leader of the city's Liberal Democrat party has dropped into the tea shop to praise us for our fund-raising for the Brighton and Hove Aids Memorial Statue. Councillor Paul Elgood, who sits on the memorial committee, received a cheque for £2,500 for the fund.

Prizes for Aids Memorial raffle announced |

The prizes for Metrodeco's Brighton Aids Memorial raffle on October 9th have been announced (click 'read more' for prize list). A dazzling array of gifts have been donated to the draw by generous local businesses - from restaurant meals and signed pop memorabilia to designer clothes vouchers and a holiday. Co-owners Helen Wilkinson and Maggie Morgan will draw the raffle tickets in the tea shop at 11am - two hours before the statue by artist Romany Mark Bruce is unveiled. |

Metrodeco Tea-Tasting Festival - Friday 18th September |

See, smell and taste any of the 18 delicious speciality teas at Brighton’s only 1930s Parisian-style tea shop.
You will be guided through the growing, harvesting and blending process and learn how to discern a quality leaf from the lesser supermarket brands.
Shop owners Helen Wilkinson and Maggie Morgan have worked with a master blender to source their black, green, white and red teas and infusions from around the world. They will be on hand to demonstrate how to brew up that perfect cup while serving up some interesting facts about Britain’s favourite drink.

Tea shop pop gig raises thousands for Aids Memorial |

NEWS RELEASE: 15/9/09
The legendary front man from newwave pop band Squeeze played a benefit gig in a small Brighton tea shop to raise money for the city’s first memorial to those who have died of HIV/Aids.
Singer/song-writer Chris Difford,who is used to playing to tens of thousands in huge stadiums and festivals,wowed a small gathering at Metrodeco Tea Salon in Upper St James’s St, KempTown.
